An instrument with several strings. Set outdoors, it sounds when the wind blows through the strings. The strings are of different thicknesses and therefore produce different harmonics. Though tuned to the same note, the resultant sound produces harmonic chords. The Aeolian harp is named after the Greek God Aeolus, keeper of the winds. See also Quality of Vibration.
